Residents' Lottery
You may mail-in or drop-off your registration form.
Resident & Non-Resident Open Registration
Tuesday, March 2 at Community Center, Birchwood Recreation Center, and Falcon Park Recreation Center.
What
is the Lottery?
The "lottery" is a computer generated, random selection
method of filling classes. The Park District uses the "lottery"
to insure all residents have an equal opportunity of being chosen
for classes.
How
Does the Lottery Work?
After you receive the Park Districts program catalog, choose
your classes and drop-off or mail-in your completed registration
form. You may also register online. On Lottery Day, the computer
randomly selects the participants to fill the classes. Non-resident
registration forms are not included in the lottery. Non-resident
forms received before March 2 will be returned. Incomplete registration
forms will also be returned.
Wait
Lists
If your chosen program fills, you are placed on a wait list. Participants
are taken off the wait list when openings become available or new
classes are formed. If you remain on the wait list, one week after
the class begins, your refund will be processed.
Cancellation
Day
If the minimum registration requirements are not met 7 days prior
to the starting date and the program is cancelled, you will automatically
receive a complete refund. Register early to prevent your favorite
class from being cancelled.
Refunds
Requests received 10 days before the class begins will receive a
100% refund, less a $5 processing fee. Requests received after this
date but prior to 24 hours after the second class meeting, will
receive a 50% refund, less a $5 processing fee. No net refunds under
$5 will be issued. Medical
exceptions: Your refund will be pro-rated from the time
your request is received. Medical refunds must be submitted before
the class has ended. Refunds are not given if there is a change
of instructor, for one-day programs, special events or classes requiring
ticket purchases. Refunds are not given for photo I.D. cards. Refund
payments will be issued by check or directly to Visa or Mastercard
- in the manner in which you paid for the class. To request
a refund you must complete a Refund Application Form. The
completed form can be mailed to 250 E. Wood Street, Palatine, IL
60067, dropped off to any of the Park District offices, or faxed
to 847-202-7317. The Refund
Application Form is available as a download, or can be picked
up at any of the Park District offices. The download file is in
".pdf" format and will require Acrobat Reader.
