Susannah's Gift

A scholarship fund has been established in memory of Susannah Kist through the Palatine Park Foundation. This program will assist Palatine Park District residents or groups who need financial assistance to participate in Palatine Park District cultural arts activities.

Susannah Kist taught theater, music and  craft classes for the Palatine Park District for sixteen years. She lost her battle with breast cancer on December 4, 2009. Susannah wanted everyone to enjoy the arts right here in Palatine.

The Palatine Swim Team welcomes swimmers of all ages and competitive levels.

Peter Pan

$5, $4 for groups of 20 or more

Neverland beckons as Peter Pan and Wendy encounter fairies, mermaids, and a ticking crocodile while trying to defeat the nefarious Captain Hook! This musical by Alyn Cardarelli and Steve Goers will capture the imagination of little pirates and fairies everywhere.

Indoor Movie Night

$10 per family

Have a great night at the movies with your family! You supply a cardboard box and we will supply the materials for you to design a car for our drive-in movie. Car designing will begin around 6:30 p.m. and the Disney movie CARS will begin around 7:30 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Pre-registration is required.


Hound Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 27, 11:00 am
Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Road, Palatine
Age: 16 years and over with dog
Pre-event: $6 per dog,
Day of event: $8 per dog

Dogs will hunt for eggs filled with treats and have their picture taken with our bunny. All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Pre-registration must include a copy of current rabies form. Dogs must be wearing a current rabies tag to participate in this event. Call the Park District at 847-991-0333 for more information.


Senior Matinee

BOPOLOGY
A musical tribute to the Rat Pack and Swing era, Bopology provides foot tappin' swing music from the 30's, 40's, and 50's with singing like Frank Sinatra and the big band style of Duke Ellington.

For you convenience, a shuttle bus from the Community Center parking lot and the Family Aquatic parking lot will be available, so don't worry if the Cutting Hall parking lot is full.

Preschool Openings

The Palatine Park District is now accepting registration for preschool for the fall of 2008. The Park District schools are located at four sites throughout Palatine. All programs are licensed by the State of Illinois. Half-day programs, mornings or afternoons are available for three and four-year-olds. A pre-kindergarten class is offered Monday - Thursday afternoons for children turning five before 3/1/09. A young three-year-old class is offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for children turning three between 1/1/08 and 11/1/08. Military Discounts

The Palatine Park District's Board of Park Commissioners has recently adopted a new policy of awarding discounts for Park District residents who are active U.S. military personnel and their immediate families.

This policy will allow resident active military personnel, their spouses and their children to participate in two programs per registrant per season at a 50% discount. Additionally, they will be admitted to the Park District's swimming pools and recreation centers for 50% off daily admissions and golf at Palatine Hills Golf Course for the guest fee.

To obtain this discount, please bring proof of active U.S. military status to the Community Center at 250 E. Wood Street, Palatine, IL. U.S. military families will be issued park district identification cards which will enable them to receive services at the reduced rate.
