Preschool Openings
The Palatine Park District is now accepting registration for preschool for the fall of 2008. The Park District schools are located at four sites throughout Palatine. All programs are licensed by the State of Illinois. Half-day programs, mornings or afternoons are available for three and four-year-olds. A pre-kindergarten class is offered Monday - Thursday afternoons for children turning five before 3/1/09. A young three-year-old class is offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for children turning three between 1/1/08 and 11/1/08. July 10, 1:20 p.m. (bus departs from the Community Center at 11:00 a.m.)
Fee*: $55 Resident/$83 Non-resident
*Fee includes transportation and game ticket.
Family Golf Nights
Junior golfers (ages 10-14) will receive a special rate if accompanied by an adult. This offer will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the months of May, June and July. This is a great opportunity to bring friends from outside the park district to play Palatine Hills. The specifics of the program are as follows:
• Cost: $10 per adult, $2.00 per junior.
• Fee is for walking only.
• Fees apply to both residents and non-residents
• All play begins on the 10th tee at 5:45 pm after twilight leagues conclude.
• Each adult must be accompanied by one junior - unless both parents accompany one junior .
• Junior golfers must be with an adult, 21 years or older.
We do ask golfers to keep pace by playing the correct tees and limiting the number of shots per hole. Doing so allows everyone to enjoy their round.

4th Thursday Concerts

ADMISSION IS FREE!
Join us on the 4th Thursday of the month for some wonderful concerts featuring Palatine's own talented performers. The shops in Palatine are open late on Thursdays so enjoy the show and some shopping.
Towne Square is located at Palatine Road and Smith Street. The performances begin at 6:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair and pack a picnic dinner, or stop by one of the restaurants nearby. Bring your sweet tooth for some Here's The Scoop ice cream.

Military Discounts
The Palatine Park District's Board of Park Commissioners has recently adopted a new policy of awarding discounts for Park District residents who are active U.S. military personnel and their immediate families.
This policy will allow resident active military personnel, their spouses and their children to participate in two programs per registrant per season at a 50% discount. Additionally, they will be admitted to the Park District's swimming pools and recreation centers for 50% off daily admissions and golf at Palatine Hills Golf Course for the guest fee.
To obtain this discount, please bring proof of active U.S. military status to the Community Center at 250 E. Wood Street, Palatine, IL. U.S. military families will be issued park district identification cards which will enable them to receive services at the reduced rate.
