Cutting Hall

Cutting Hall is a unique facility that offers residents of Palatine and the surrounding area an opportunity to share their talents and resources in the performing arts. This 430-seat auditorium offers a stage, rehearsal room and two dressing rooms for rental. To inquire about rates or for further information, please call 847-705-5123 ext. 217. Cutting Hall is located at 150 E. Wood Street in Palatine.

Volunteer Program
Our volunteers add to the success of our performing arts events. You can help by assisting in distribution of promotional materials, ushering, or performing other front-of-house duties at Cutting Hall. For information on becoming involved, call Carol Lange at 847-705-5123 ext. 237.

Community Theater
Palatine is fortunate to be the resident home of four theater companies whose productions are held at Cutting Hall. Each group welcomes those who wish to volunteer their technical or artistic skills for this effort. Call 847-705-5123 ext. 237 for information on becoming involved.   THE BAKER'S WIFE
With a score from the composer of “Wicked”, Stephen Schwartz, and a book from the author of “Fiddler On The Roof,” Joseph Stein, old world charm permeates every moment of this wise, bittersweet, romantic fable. The bickering residents of a small town at last find peace and contentment in the heavenly bread of the newly arrived baker and his attractive much younger wife, but when she runs off with a handsome young gigolo, the middle-aged baker loses all zest and interest in life and baking, throwing the town into chaos.

  JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT
From the composer Andrew Lloyd Weber comes the Old Testament story of Joseph and his 11 brothers. Journey with Joseph from favored son to lowly slave, and finally to ruler of Egypt. The eclectic musical styles, dynamite choreography, and exciting story make this a great night out for the whole family.

Please Note: The groups listed here perform their seasons at Cutting Hall, but are not Palatine Park District programs. They are theater companies whose affiliation with Cutting Hall is only in so much that they rent the facility.



Palatine Concert Band

The Palatine Concert Band is supported by the Palatine Park District, local agencies and private donations. Membership is open to adults proficient at playing an instrument. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 8:00 to 10:00 pm at the Community Center. For tickets or more information, call the band information line at 847-991-2731.
