The age cut off for five year olds is August 31. For all other leagues the appropriate league is based on their
current grade in school.
Participants are assigned to teams in March. Games and practices begin mid April and end in early July. The culmination of the season is the Palatine Youth Baseball/Softball Day held at Community Park, featuring league All-Star games, team and individual trophy presentations, and other entertainment.

Palatine Baseball Association (PBA) is the Park District affiliate baseball/softball program for ages 13-29 (7th grade and up). The House League provides a competitive, fun atmosphere for players with uniforms, and certified umpires. Most games are played at Community Park including night games. Included in the season all-star games, post season tournaments with trophies, a 14-year-old LaCrosse tournament team, and a 13-year-old tournament team. Thirteen and fourteen year Tournament Teams are selected from players already registered and playing in the house program, and play June-July.
The Travel Teams hold open try-outs each August for the following season. Notification of try-outs are provided to age appropriate registered participants, and notice is provided through the newspaper. Try-outs for the 2010 season are complete.
Mail-in registration for the 2010 season begins in December. Registration received after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list. Wait list registrants will not be guaranteed a spot on a team in 2010.

We are an instructional cheerleading and flags organization. Our squads perform at PAFA football games in support of the Palatine Amateur Football Association’s travel football program. Games are played in Palatine or surrounding suburbs on either Saturday or Sunday each weekend of the season. Clinic week is August 10-13 and regular season games begin late August.
PAFA Cheer is for girls in grades 1-8. Our primary focus is teaching sideline cheers and halftime routines in preparation for junior high and high school cheer. Cheer is divided into 4 divisions: Mini, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior.
Mini (1st & 2nd grades) - 1 hour practice per week; Mandatory 2 days of Clinic Week (Thursday & Friday)
Junior (3rd & 4th grades) - 1 hour practice per week; Mandatory 4 days of Clinic Week (Tuesday-Friday)
Intermediate (5th & 6th grades) - 1.5 hour practice 2 times per week; Mandatory 4 days of Clinic Week (Tuesday-Friday); Cheer in playoffs/championships, optional competition in November
Senior (7th & 8th grades) - 2 hours practice 2 times per week; Mandatory 4 days of Clinic Week (Tuesday-Friday); Cheer in playoffs/championships, optional competition in November
PAFA Flags is for girls in grades 6-8. Our primary focus is teaching halftime routines in preparation for high school flags. There are weekly practices during the season and performances at two games EACH weekend the Panthers are Home. There is an optional exhibition at the end of the season.
Pre-Registration for the 2010 season is available online or at any of the park district buildings beginning March 1. Anyone registering prior to March 31 will receive a $10 discount. Open registration and mandatory sizing will be at the Birchwood gym on Saturday, May 15 from 9:00 to 11:00 am and 6:30 – 8:30 pm on Wednesday, May 19. All participants, even if pre-registered, must be available for one of the mandatory uniform sizings at Birchwood. Anyone registering after May 20 and prior to June 1 will be fitted by appointment and assessed an additional $25 fee.

Registration fee includes PAFA t-shirt, trophies, practice time, clinic week, and coaches salaries. Fee is payable to the Palatine Park District. A separate $125 uniform deposit payable to PAFA post dated 11/01/10 is required (except Mini’s). There will be additional mandatory supplies to purchase at the uniform sizing. These supplies can be purchased with cash or check only. Supply purchases are non-refundable.
Refund Policy: 100% less $5 processing fee through August 11; 50% less $5 processing fee through
August 18. No refunds will be given after August 18.
The Palatine Amateur Football Association, also known as PAFA, is an organized, full-contact youth travel football program. The program is for children in grades 3-8 (ages 8 to 14 as of 9/01/10). Teams are based on age, weight, and experience. Palatine plays communities in the Northwest Youth Football League. Registration for the 2009 season begins in February. This recreational youth hockey program is an affiliate program of Palatine, Rolling Meadows, and Arlington Heights Park Districts that allows all skaters the opportunity to play ice hockey. The program includes hockey tot classes (ages 3-5), pre-mite introduction hockey classes (ages 4-12), recreational youth House League teams (ages 6-17), and summer camps. The Palatine Celtic Soccer Club, which is affiliated with the Palatine Park District, provides youth soccer programs for girls and boys ages 6-18 years. Both the House and Travel Programs are governed by the Palatine Celtic Soccer Club Board of Directors.
The House Program features: age-graded divisions, jerseys for all players, fair team and player selection, awards, mandatory 50% minimum playing time, and coach training clinics throughout the season. The House Program emphasizes fun, recreation, fair play, and soccer basics at the Under-8 divisions and increases in competition at older age divisions. Eight games are scheduled for the fall and four games for the spring with a season-ending tournament for Under-10 and older players. Most practices are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Age divisions for the boys and girls House Program are:

For more competitive soccer players, the Palatine Celtic Soccer Club offers an age-graded Travel Program for girls and boys ages 8-18 years. Coaches licensed by the United States Soccer Federation emphasize soccer excellence through individual and team skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The girls’ teams play in the Illinois Women’s Soccer League. The boys’ teams play in the Northern Illinois Soccer League and the Young Sportmen’s Soccer League, and Travel Teams participate in local and regional tournaments throughout the season. Tryouts for the 2009-2010 teams are in early May for high school girls, June for all youth teams, and October for high school boys. Practices are held on various evenings of the week. 2010 Celtic Soccer Registration Form
A copy of a birth certificate for children who are not currently registered is required at registration. A completed registration form and signed medical release form is required at registration for the House Program and tryouts for the Travel Program. The fee is $120 for residents, $1545 for non-residents FHS/PHS, and $180 non-residents (make check payable to the Palatine Park District). A late fee of $30 will be imposed after July 10.
Current participants should watch for 2010-2011registration information in the mail coming in February.
